Lauren’s Bio

Lauren Himel has spent seven years working in the television and video production industry. She has worn the hats of producer, editor, camera operator, client service liaison and talent coordinator, working on everything from commercials to weekly television shows to live-to-tape programs. Lauren is a team player who often assumes the role of the entire team, and never fails to deliver top-notch programming to her clients.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a degree in broadcast journalism Lauren began working at Giant Productions, a production house specializing in sports programming. Lauren worked her way up to senior supervising producer where she was involved in every aspect of the production process, from concept to completion. She was able to develop strong relationships with many television networks and clients, all of whom appreciated her vast knowledge of the production process and her attention to detail and deadlines.

Lauren eventually took her talents and knowledge to Chicago Live!, a stage and radio show produced by the Chicago Tribune in partnership with WGN Radio and The Second City. As talent coordinator, Lauren was responsible for booking an eclectic mix of notable guests, from Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, to Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, to Cookie Monster.

After seven seasons of Chicago Live! Lauren left the Chicago Tribune to open Blue Face Productions, a production company that offers clients all of the expertise that Lauren has acquired during her eclectic career. Lauren has utililized her strong connections in Chicago’s production community to staff and work on projects for Nike, CBS Sports, Brightspark Travel, the Chicago Auto Show, American Family Insurance and many more.
